Review
When a firm sustains profits that exceed the average of its industry, the firm is said to possess a competitive advantage over its rivals. A large portion of business strategy is aimed at achieving a sustainable competitive advantage.
Michael Porter identified two basic types of competitive advantage:
Cost advantage.
Differentiation advantage.
A competitive advantage exists when a firm is able to deliver the same benefits as its competitors but at a lower cost (cost advantage), or deliver benefits that exceed those of competing products (differentiation advantage). Either way, the firm is able to provide superior value to its customers and superior profits for itself.
OR Service uses the Porter model basics to assist our clients in creating the type of competitive advantage they prefer.
We call our concept Advanced Sourcing Pack (ASP).
What is the ASP concept?
ASP works in two ways:
Improving the company's sourcing to create a cost advantage.
Upgrading marketing methods and technology to create a differentiation advantage.
The Problem
Companies are always looking for competitive advantages but most are either unsuccessful or minimally successful in creating one. The search for such advantages is complex and most companies are simply not familiar with the best way of gaining these advantages.
OR Service and ASP
We specialize in designing solutions that afford our clients exactly this type of competitive advantage within the purchasing and marketing fields.
